Nature Discovery Station

We are obsessed with our new Excellerations outdoor STEM maker space we were gifted from Discount School Supply #partner and it’s turned out to be the perfect space for all our nature treasure explorations. My youngest was so excited to play with it she couldn’t even bother to change out of her pajamas before playing. My kids are 4yo and 6yo and it’s the perfect height for both kids.

Product Review

I’m always amazed at the quality of Discount School Supplies outdoor furniture. If you are in the market for a work bench or maker space for your little one, this one is top notch! I love that the sides extend for more workspace and fold down when not needed. The bench also comes with two lockable wheels so it stays put when the kids are playing, and can easily moves to a new space. I do however wish there was an option for a shelf in the cabinet, but otherwise I absolutely love this setup!

The white pegboard part is metal not wood. The wood is the made of the same stuff as our outdoor mud kitchen setup, which is made from FSC Certified eucalyptus. Meaning the harvested wood is from "forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable" (source: the spruce). While eucalyptus wood is a durable wood for outdoor furniture, we live in a high desert climate and will be keeping our work bench in a covered space once it goes outside. For now we’ll be enjoying this setup indoors where it’s warm. This bench took my husband about an hour to build, and I highly recommend a power drill for piecing this together.
