Water Beads Letter Hunt

We love water beads, but some days I just don’t have it in me to deal with the mess. Water bead blobs are a great alternative. They are mess free with no chocking hazard, and super simple to make. While water bead blobs alone are fun, you can easily add a letter hunt aspect for some added learning.

Supplies & Instructions

2 gallon ziploc bag

Duck Tape

Water beads

CVC flashcards

Using duck tape tape the bottom and both sides. Add the hydrated water beads to the bag, remove as much air as possible, and seal closed. Tape the top with duct tape so that all four sides are now taped. On the sheet of paper, use the marker to write each letter. Then set the sheet of paper under the water bead bag. For E (5yo), she selected a cvc flashcard, read the word, then found each letter in the word to spell the word.

For A (3yo), she found a letter, then we said the letter and letter sound together.
